If you have just had your reunification services services terminated, and your matter was set for a California Welfare and Institutions Code § 366.26 hearing, you should consider contacting Consortium for Children, as they offer free mediation in California Case. Information can be found at www.consortforkids.org.
If you do not fit within the rules of consortium, whether it is a timing issue, or if you are a former care provider, family member, or stakeholder in the child that does not have parental rights, we are another option for adoptive mediation.
We work with mediators that have been approved by the superior court.
1) Complete the contact form on our website, or email rrr@ruscalaw, we will send you our application form. Once we have the completed form, with application fee and retainer for mediator:
2) We will contact the Social Worker and determine if the adoptive family would consider mediation. If the adoptive family wishes to mediate, our mediator will meet with the adoptive family and parent, former care provider, family member, or stakeholder, and child (if appropriate and agreed to), to facilitate an agreement to communicate if one can be made.
Once and if and agreement is made:
3) Adoption Mediation will assist the mediator in preparing the proper paperwork for the court if it is requested by mediator.
