Our History

Founded in January of 2022, Adoption Mediation is a collaboration of persons experienced in California Welfare and Institutions Code § 300 cases and mediation.

Rodney R. Rusca, found a need for new adoptive parents and biological parents, who are having their parental rights terminated, to communicate about the possibilities of contact with the adopted child or children before or after adoption who do not qualify for Consortium for Children because referrals were not made timely. Further, some parties, such as: former care providers, family members, or stakeholders, who are not found presumed or biological parents, are not able to use Consortium for Children because of their standing on the case.

If you reunification services have been terminated, you should consider contacting Consortium for Children as their services are free. For more information, visit consortforkids.org.

Adoption Mediation charges an application fee and the persons requesting mediation, who are not the adoptive family, are required to pay the retainer of the mediator and any other fees or costs associated with the adoptive mediation.
